I LOVE YOUR SITE AND HAVE FOR 13 YEARS DONE WILDBIRD RESCUE IN SOLANO COUNTY,I HAVE RAISED OVER 200 BABY BIRDS OF ALL KINDS. WHAT I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH ARE THE EUROPEAN STARLINGS THEY ARE THE MOST AMAZING AND INTELLEGENT BIRDS I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. MOST OF MY BABIES GO BACK TO THE WILD WHERE THEY BELONG HOWEVER, EACH YEAR THERE ARE SOME KEEPERS THOSE THAT WERE TO BADLY HURT BY PREDATORS AND MUST BE KEPT AS PETS. MY LOVE FOR STARLINGS GOES VERY DEEP! I HAD TO KEEP TWO STARLINGS 9 YEARS AGO SISSY AND LADY "L" AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY LEARNED TO SPEAK ENGLISH AND SISSY HAD A VOCABULARY OF OVER 80 WORDS WHICH HE USED IN SENTENCES AND AT THE RIGHT TIME. HE LOVED ME SO MUCH HE KNEW MY EVER EMOTION. WHEN I FELT SAD HE WOULD COME TO ME AND SIT ON MY CHEST AND SAY "I LOVE YOU NANSISSY" THIS I DID NOT TEACH HIM TO SAY. WHEN HIS MATE "LADY L" DIED HE SCREAMED FOR HOURS AND REFUSED TO EAT. SO I BEGAN TO HAND FEED HIM AGAIN WITH PARROT PABLEM TO KEEP ALIVE UNTIL HIS GREEVING PERIOD WAS OVER. FINALLY HE STARTED TO COME BACK EMOTIONALLY AND AGAIN BECAME HIS COMICAL SELF. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING A BOOK CALLED "MY DARLING STARLINGS". I SOMETIMES HEAR POEPLE SAY AMINALS ARE DUMB BUT THOSE THAT SAY THAT ARE DUMB! THESE BIRDS ARE SO LOVEABLE AND CARE MORE ABOUT THEIR FAMILIES AND LOYALITY THAN MOST PEOPLE. GOD HAS TRULY MADE SOME BEAUTIFUL CREATURES WHICH WE SHOULD LEARN TO APPRECIATE AND POSSIBLY LEARN SOMETHING FROM. YOUR SITE IS GREAT AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO CHAT ABOUT BIRDS I WOULD ENJOY THE EMAIL THANKS, NANCY IN VAVAVILLE,CA.

I have a Mourning Dove nest in a Washingtonia Palm in front of my house. I am quite happy to heave them. I love their call and how they sound in flight. I also am intrigued my how the sitting mother protects her nest by acting injured as to distract the interloper. Does anyone know if they will eat from a feeder and if so what type of seed? Thanks
I was surfing the net for penpals who love birds and happened upon this great site! Very nice site! Anyone reading this who likes to make friends can contact me. Visit my homepage and we can chat! You can also see my photo and personal info there! http://www.gigablat.com/kristine
I had a unique visitor to my feeder 2 weeks ago. It was a European Goldfinch, kindly identified by birdersworld.com. These birds are not native to our country, but might have been released by a pet store in the Chicago area. (125 miles northeast of here). This 5 color bird has become one of my favorites. I managed to get a few digital pictures of it as well! Great website!!
This is a great site. Wonderful pictures! You have done a wonderful job! Thank you, Gil Mota

What a nice website! I love all birds, and it almost feel traitorous to express any partiality, but the birds that really captivate me are Waxwings, Cedar and Bohemian alike. They are exceedingly beautiful to look at, and they seem to possess the most endearing traits and habits.

I Was searching for ideas for roosting boxes for our numerous over-wintering chickadees and nuthatches to offer them protection from our infamous "Matanuska Winds" which howl for days and days and days in winter. Delighted to find your site and was impressed by the quality and quantity of information available. Very well done. Thank you!
